GUN CLUB AFFAIRS Sir, —May I beg a little more of your space. I notice in your reply to criticism concerning Rainbow Trout trophies a rather misleading error which I wish to correct. Whilst not wanting to aim a stone at any particular person unless I am sure they deserve it, I wish to point out that Mr Rivett has it, that I claim the second prize was rumoured to be valued at £5. That is incorrect and if he re-reads my letter he will find that I stated: It was rumoured that the first prize (not the second) was to be a substantial one of approximately £5 value.
He also states that the winner was announced at the annual ‘smoko’ and that it was reported in the Beacon.
Would he please advise me in what edition that was as I read the report of the annual ‘Smoko’ in the Beacon but apparently missed it. Hence my letter of 26th June. Furthermore he apears to think I am confused with another trophy"donated by IJJr Hudson of Cutlers Hardware. This is the main reason why I started a paper correspondence as all the rumours I have heard were connected entirely with Mr Hudson’s trophy. According to Mr Rivett’s statement the only entrant was Mr Zinsli. Does this not seem strange if those trophies got the publicity he claims. It is my experience that most people of a sporting nature like to have a flutter for a trophy no matter whether large or small. I appreciate the invitation which the President of the Club has extended to me to attend the next executive meeting. I doubt if that is necessary. All I ask for is a clear explanation. To the best of my belief, being a financial member, gives me the right to scrutinise the minutes of any meeting. The invitation to me to attend an executive meeting Mr Editor, brings us to another peculiarity of the club’s procedure. I was not aware an executive had been elected. At the annual general meeting a committee was set up but now it appears there is also an executive or does the executive rule out the committee. I have not been aware of any general meeting taking place since the annual general meeting and since it is necessary to call a general meeting to form an executive how exactly was this particular executive formed.
In conclusion. Sir, how does it come about that the second trophy is worth, approximately double the value of the first. I received most of my information from ‘Teply to criticism” and stand to be corrected if I am in error. & Yours etc., A CLUB MEMBER. (The above letter has been submitted to the President of the Rod and Gun Club for comment, and the following statement has been issued: “The committee considers ‘Club Members’ queries have been fully answered and until such time as he sees fit to disclose his identity, is not disposed to make any further comment. ‘Club Member’, has the right to write, lodging his complaints direct to the secretary. On receipt of his letter the committee will then endeavour in a friendly way to clear up any mis-understand-ing. In the event of this course failing to give satisfaction, ‘Club Member’ will then have every right to ventilate his grievances through the ‘press’ again. Ed.)
THE MALONEY REPORT Sir, —The Edgecumbe branch of the Communist Party challenges the Maloney Report. Maloney is a' responsible socialist. The Australian Government tried to suppress his report. Our Government has suppressed Mr Bpswell’s report because it would cause complications. There is only one reason why- Mr Boswell’s report 0 could be suppressed and that is because it is adverse like Maloney’s. In any case this report merely confirms that of Citrine’s of 1938.* Citrine went to Russia at the request of the British Trade Unions. They selected him because they could trust him. The American Socialists and Federation of Labour
sent Hubbard, a Socialist, about the same time. A host of leading Socialist who have lived for years in Russia confirm everything Maloney states. Miss Sanbys is in Russia and her denial of the truth of the Maloney Report is valueless in view of known facts and the experience of Communist Paul 'Wintsrton, who after three years broadcasting from. Moscow, refused to stay there any longer. He had to broadcast as instructed by the Soviet and upon reaching England he described Russia as a den of lies and hypocrisy. So many admitted facts confirm the Maloney Report. How could there be anything but the shortages of .the necessaries of life in Russia when the Socialist Webbs tell us that 5,000,000 people died of starvation in 1929. Even Maurice Hindus tells us that in 1932-33 the number dying of starvation was not less than 3,000,000. We know of the terrible 1
purge of 1937-38 when 60 per cent, of the Communist Party itself was liquidated. Ambassador Davies in ‘Mission to Moscow” tells us those years were a reign of stark terror. We know that in 1939 when Russia was not at war 3,000,000 Poles were deported to Siberia where nearly all died of starvation for we have some of the escaped victims in New Zealand. We know that of those who sat round the supreme council table with Stalin all save one met" violent deaths at the hands of the State. We know of the famous trials concernng which the British Labour Party published an Official pamphlet condemning “Stalin’s terorism.” “In every case in which we have been able to check the facts we find the most monstrous lies in the, indictment.” Another official pamphlet by the British Labour Party in 1940 escribed Russia’s policy as “a policy of deception, blackmail, trickery and rutality.” “The Russian system is a new kind of slavery.” Common ense tells us that such a system could not produce results other than those stated by Maloney.” Yours etc., “ONLOOKER.” Lev:.*.- . CENTRALISED CONTROL Sir, —Mr Bevin states that a Federal Control in Germany would ultimately be a safe conclusion, as the Federal States would finally come under centralised control, just the same. It would be the same thing that Hitler was upholding “Totalitarian Dictatorship,” and we have this Hydra Head arising in Britain and its Dominions under the guise of Socialism. A Bureaucratic Dictatorship. Who is behind this world wide scheme, to subjugate the peoples of the Western Hemisphere, and its dependencies? And how is it being done? This world wide scheme was drawn out by the Rothschilds through their central Reserve Banks; and was carried on by Montigue Norman and Dr .Scracht when they formed the central Bank of the central Banks (the international) prior to the war. When we look for the final perpetrators of this money racket for centralised control, we find lames as “Seiff Warburg Bros., Kohn Loeb and Co,, Barnie Baruch, and other strange ones that do not sound British. The objective of the' forming of the 37' Central Banks (reserve) since 1918, was the part of the set-up of the more open planning now in progress, and shows a clear relationship. Take notice—the bank of International Settlements and the smallest banks of the South American Republics are granted extra-territoriality, as questions in the House of Commons as to the Bank of England, made it clear that it is in fact extra-territorial, and that the International Bank is the central bank of the Central Banks. Thus we have the Reserve Bank, the Central Bank of the Trading Banks of New Zealand. A Government (party political) controlled by its Fiscal Policy .(International) will eventually disclose itself as a disguised military organisation the power of which, grows with what it feeds on the monopoly of the credit of the people. Now there is no room for discussion as to what has caused this disastrous state of things throughout the British Empire. Under war or threat of wary people are being stampeded into -subordination by a Centralised Organisation. The demand for production and more production is identical with followed by the slump which commenced in 1921, and which is now under way for further development, with reports of further at the public expense and individual disadvantages, sabotage by excessive taxation, subjugating, honest ep-. deavour. These are the things that Mr Algie wants to consider before signing the Bretton Woods Plot, to subjugate the British Nation by stealth and starvation. Or is Mr Algie slipping? Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
