SUCCESSFUL SHOOT

WHAKATANE ROD & GUN CLUB HIGH STANDARD MAINTAINED The high standard of shooting which has been built up by members of the Whakatane Rod and Gun Club was maintained last weekend, when a further shoot was held on the club’s grounds. Some twenty sportsmen' were present, and although the weather was not ideal, good averages obtained. Results in detail were as follows: Eye Opener: W. Hume, S. Kerr, R. Stephenson, M. Matchitt, W. Kenyon all shot 4 birds and divided. No. 1, 5 Bird Sweep: W. Kenyon, S. Kerr, R. Stephenson shot 4 birds and divided. No. 2, 5 Bird Sweep: J. Hayward, A. Stephenson, W. Hume, F. Matchitt divided with 4 birds each. Box Shoot 20 yards: S. Kerr, W. Hume, J. Tebbutt divided with 4 kills each. Ten Bird Sweep: R. Bell 1, 8 kills; W. Hume, J. White, J. Plamus 7 kills divided second money. 15 Bird Trial, 16 yards: W. Hume, W. Wardlaw, J. Plamus, W. Howat divided with 11 birds each. ■ Gimcrack: N. Matchitt, W. Hume, H. Jackson all shot the possible and divided the stake. No. 3, 5 Bird Sweep: H. Jackson, W. Hume shot the possible and divided the prize money. No. 4, 5 Bird Sweep: J. Tebbutt, W. Hume, S. Kerr, R. Bell divided the stake with 4 birds each.
