REFEREES MEET

CUP MATCH PLAYED Approximately forty referees from the various sub-unions of the Bay met at Matata recently. The president, Mr Burt (Tauranga) welcomed members, and trusted that the discussion which would take place on the various aspects of Rugby would be of benefit. The general business of the meeting was concerned mainly with rules, and these were thoroughly discussed. After the meeting, two teams of referees took the field to play for the Referees Cup (East v West). A good game was witnessed by quite a large following of spectators, and applause was not stinted when the East team proved its. superiority to the tune of 19 points to 6.
