PLUNKET SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Whakatane Branch of the Plunket So- ' ciety took place recently in the Plunket rooms, Mesdames Cairns (chair), King, Zinsli, Dainton, Patterson and Caisley being present. Apologies were received from Mesdames Morgan, Spring, Roach, Jessop and Morpeth. The Nurse's report was. read and confirmed. A request was received from the Opotiki Branch, for the Nurse to visit that place another half day per week, as the one day per week, as at present, was not proving sufficients Some discus non ensued, and it was decided to refer the matter to Head Office for further investigation. A cheque to the value of £2O was received from the Borough Council. The next meeting -of the branch, it was intimated, would take place oh Monday, July .1 at 2.30 p.m. The usual vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
