SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE 4 At the f five day clearing sale held at the Awaroa Station, Edgecumbe, recently on account of Messrs. Holdsworth Bros., a very satisfactory sale resulted and prices were steady throughout. The greater portioh of the large number of dairy stock were purchased by local farmers, and a number were purchased for Hawke’s Bay, North Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts. The average prices realised were: Dairy herds £lO 18s per head; twoyear in-calf heifers £l3 2s 6d; yearling heifers £6 2s 6d. At the sale, of pigs, implements and "machinery on the final day, there was a very large attendance of farmers and a total clearance was effected. • The sale was conducted by Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., and New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd.
