EDGECUMBE ANGLICANS

BIBLE CLASS SOCIAL FURTHER POPULAR FUNCTION Another popular social held in the Edgecumbe Hall under the auspices of the Anglican Bible Class attracted a large attendance. Captain L. W. Rogers filled his usual role of M.C. and kept events moving in happy sequence. The Rev. Drake was responsible for two very happy musical games. Songs rendered by Mr B. Topp were very well received. Prior to the supper interval, Captain Rogers on behalf of the Bible Class and Boy Scouts bade farewell to Mr John Hanna who had been prominently connected in these activities. Mr Hanna’s position as Assistant Scout Master would be difficult to fill, said the speaker, and went on to pay eloquent tribute to a period of hard work in furthering the interest of local Scouts. In wishing Mr Hanna good fortune Captain Rogers made presentations on behalf of the Bible Class and Boy Scouts. Mr Hanna suitably replied. Following a dainty supper dancing continued until midnight. Mr W. J. R. Thompson was at the piano.
