Regent “Irish Eyes Are Smiling” (Sat. and Mon.) Regarded by many patrons as being top picture of the June calendar. Monty Woolley fans will be right at home with this show. Request Pictures The campaign launched by the management of the Regent Theatre for request pictures to return to Whakatane has far exceeded all expectations by way of success. Dozens of sheets have been posted or handed in, and without exception, the requests are for pictures of the type of “Going My Way,” “Waterloo Bridge,” “Story of Dr. Wassell,” “This Love of Ours” and such. Eighty-five per cent, of the sheets ask for “The Great Waltz” which the management has been successful in booking for July 23 and'24. Pictures will be procured whenever possible in order of popularity.
