WHAKATANE MEN’S CLUB The first rounds of sectional match play in the Clarke and Reynolds Cup contests were played on Saturday with the following results:— Clarke Cup: R. Morpeth beat D. Luxton; R. P. Pattison beat G. H. Rankin; L. Luxton beat C. Hyland. Reynolds Cup: W. Rangi beat N. Akel; D. S. Wilson beat H. Bushett; B. Alexander beat M. Stubbs. The draw' for second rounds to be played next Saturday is as follows:—R. T. Morpeth v winner of R. E. Butler and A. Morpeth; R. J. Pattison v L. Luxton; W. Rangi v D. S. Wilson; J. Coi'bett v B. Alexander. A Stableford Handicap also played last Saturday resulted in a win for E. N. Ducker with , 40 points. Other scores were W. Rangi, L. B. Smith 35; T. T. Dawson 34. Ducker’s round of 79 (40, 39) was a good effort for a 15 handicap player, and it was duly recognised by the handicap committee. Following is the draw for a medal round to be played next Saturday: W. TE TEKO LADIES’ CLUB Following is the draw for a Bogey competition to be played on Thursday, June 20, and Sunday June 23: Thursday: Mrs ( Thomas and Mrs Mcßride; Mrs Hutton and M rs Moulded; Mrs Goodwin and Mrs Cannell; Mrs Balfour and Miss Linsell; Mrs Caldwell and Mrs Burr; Miss Murray and Mrs Linsell. Sunday: Mrs Anderson and Mrs Balfour; Miss Walker and Mrs Caldwell. A sealed hole competition played last week resulted as under: B Grade Mrs Hutton 96—36, 60; C Grade, Mrs Moulden 105. The sealed hole was number 9. f
