ANNUAL MEETING
RANGITAIKI CALF CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Rangitaiki Plains Calf Club took place in the Awakeri school on Tuesday evening last, a good attendance consisting of committeemen and teachers from twelve of the surrounding schools being present. The election of officers which was proceeded with took place as under:— Chairman: Mr A. H. Adams (Thornton). Secretary-Treasurer: Mr Rushbrook. Committee: Messrs. T. E. Sandilands, C. L. Roberts, M. A. Eagle, B. S. Mottram, W. E. Goldsmith, S. H. G. Jackson, G. N. Gordon, R. Moir, M. Law (Y.F.C. Representative). Additional members are to be elected to the committee from Taneatua, Manawahe and Ruatoki districts.
It was decided that the 1946 combined field day, which takes place towards the end of the year, should this year be held at Awakeri. After some discussion on the age limits qualifying junior and senior members, it was decided that these should remain as at present, with junior members ranging up to Standard 2, and senior members from Standard 3 upwards. An address was given by Mr, H. V. Mountfort, Agricultural Inspector attached to the Education Department. Mr Mountfort spoke on the value of calf judging to children, and also on that attaching to the ind®or display of garden produce held in connection with the annual field day.
