Flush of Green Feed The abundant flush of green feed to be seen on the Rangitaiki Plains at the present time was the subject of comment by a visitor to this town from the Waikato. The second meeting of the Whakatane Parent-Teacher Association will be held at the school on Monday, June 10, when it is hoped that Mr A. Merrington, Senior Inspector of Schools for the Auckland area, will be present to address members. The opportunity to submit written questions and suggestions for answer and discussion will be given members, and to this end, a question box is to be provided. An invitation is extended to all persons interested in educational matters to attend the meeting. Record of Service During the past eight days the Whakatane St. John motor Ambulance has travelled approximately 2000 miles in the relief of suffering. This remarkable record embraces several trips to Auckland and to Hamilton with seriously injured patients. On Wednesday evening officers of the Brigade travelled practically all night with a case to Hamilton arriving back at 4 a.m. or just in time to snatch a wink of sleep and then go out to work. The service which the Whakatane Brigade is unfailingly giving at all times is well worthy of the utmost public gratitude and recognition.
