STAFF PRESENTATION

MR D. V. SAUNDERS On Tuesday evening last, the staff of the Whakatane Borough Council accorded a farewell tea to the retiring Town Clerk, Mr D. V. Saunders in the Council Chambers. Mr F. W. Lysaght, on behalf of the staff made a presentation of a wristlet watch, and conveyed to him the best wishes of the gathering. Mr W. S. Henderson and Miss R. Garaway also spoke. Opportunity was taken to extend a staff welcome to Mr L. D. Lovelock, the new Town Clerk, who expressed his thanks in a brief response.
