JUVENILE CRIPPLES
WORK OF THE SOCIETY WHAKATANE SUB-CENTRE MEETS The following members were present at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Sub-centre of the Auckland* Branch of the New Zealand Crippled. Children’s Society; Mesdames D. E. Pearse, Dawson, Jaram, Waterhouse, Winstone, Sullivan, Morice, Patterson, Hockin, Riddell, Rangi, Misses North, Lerew (Welfare Officer), and Messrs. S. Armstrong, T. C. Johnston, H. Dainton, T. A. Bridger and Dr. Dawson. Apologies were received from Mesdames Prideaux and Morgan and. Messrs. Cutler, Bell, W. E. Armstrong and T. R. Harland. The annual report was presented by Mrs Pearse and the statement of receipts and payments was read. The Welfare Officer’s report was by Miss Lerew. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Dr. Dawson; vice-president, Mr T. A. Bridger; secretary-treasurer, Miss North; committee, Mesdames Dawson, Jaram, Waterhouse, Morice, Patterson, Hockin and Messrs. Dainton, Johnston, S. Armstrong, Notley, Slipper and Rev. Bell; auditor, Mr Harland. It was resolved that monthly meetings be held on the first Thursday following the first Monday in each month at 7.30 p.m. Mr Bridger moved that an account be opened in the Union Bank of Australia and that the president, vice-president and treasurer be empowered to operate on same.
