AWAKERI CONTEST An inter-club match held in the Awakeri Hall on Thursday last resulted in a win for Thornton. Details were as under, Thornton names being mentioned first in each case:— . The final result was Thornton 12 games, Awakeri 6. Mr Jack Hyland spoke on behalf of the Thornton Club expressing thanks for the way they as visitors had been looked after and the sporting manner in which all games had been played. Mr Fred. Jensen who spoke for the Awakeri team, stated that all players were very keen and expressed the hope that both clubs would be able to travel more extensively this r ear.
