ATHLETIC MEETING
THREE SCHOOLS COMPETE
WIN FOR EDGECUMBE A very successful inter-school athletic contest was held at Otakiri on Wednesday, May 1, when threeschools, Edgecumbe, Otakiri and Te Teko, held a friendly competition, amongst the best pupils from each school. The meeting' was organised by the staff and committee of the Otakiri School, the' chief officials t being as follows:—Starter: Mr , O. Lord; Marksmen: Mr W. Billing and Mr Pope; Scorers: Misses Pye and Reekie; Result Steward: Miss Burns; Judges: Messrs. Barton, RevelT and . Winters; Material Steward: Mr Gilbert; Course Stewards: Messrs. Missen, Peck, Leslie and Wallen. Two competitors from each school were invited to take part in each event and points were awarded to | the schools on the basis of 5 for first, 3 for second and 1 for third place.' At the'end of the day the points: gained were: Edgecumbe 136, Otakiri 88 and Te Teko 56.
