WEDDING BELLS

HENDERSON—PEDERSEN The wedding was solemnised on the evening of April 10 at All Saints Church, Palmerston North, of Elva ! May, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Pedersen, of Sanson, Palmerston, and Francis Murray Haslett (ex R.N.Z.A.F.) eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. S. Henderson, Francis Street, Whakatane. Rev. Barnett, of Bulls, officiated. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a very handsome trained gown of white cloque,

with a shirred shoulder yoke and long waisted scalloped bodice. The neck was edged with silver beads which trimmings were also used to ornament the bodice. Her full

length dainty veil was caught at the sides with tiny sprays of orange blossom and her headdress was of white and pale pink cactus dahlias similar to the bouquet she carried.

Her four bridesmaids were Misses Leonie Bayley and Jean Harris I (both cousins of the bride) and I Misses Patricia and Pamela Henderson. The fifth, Miss Sonia Harris, was unfortunately indisposed. The bridesmaids frocks all in the same deep rose shade of crepe, made a charming contrast with the bridal white. They were fashioned on similar lines to that worn by the bride and all four carried matching bouqets of rose pink carnations, gerbera and delphiniums. Gerbera also formed the head-dresses and all

wore the bridegroom’s gifts of paua shell pendants on fine gold chains. The bridegroom was supported .by his brother Lindsay and two groomsmen Mr Patrick Quinlan of Wellington, and Mr Eric Pedersen, of Sanson.

The reception was attended by 170 guests who were received by the bridal party and by the bride’s par-

ents and bridegroom’s mother. Mrs Pedersen wore a black frock and hat with white shoulder spray and a fur cape, and Mrs Henderson a turquoise suit, pink shoulder spray and black accessories.

Following the reception all guests were invited to a party at the bride’s home where the large number of wedding gifts were displayed. Mr and Mrs Henderson left for their honeymoon in the South Is-

land, the bride travelling in a dark grey tailored costume with maroon pin stripe maroon crepe blouse and felt hat to match with dark grey velvet trimming. Mr and Mrs Hendei’son’s future home will be in Sanson.
