This herd was culled very heavily two yedrs ago and over the last two years there have been no culls through disease of any description. A number of thfese cows have produced over 5001bs butterfat in a season and the herd is composed of all young cows. This herd is looking exceptionally well and the calving dates are right (and will be given out at time of sale). The sire of the yearlings to be offered, “Meadowlands Royal Choice,” has a record of 7651bs fat on his dam’s side. This herd is considered one of the best in the district as far as type, colour, production and uniformity are concerned, and warrants the genuine support of all buyers of replacement cattle.

Wardlaw, who is disposing of his herd and transferring to sheep and dry cattle, we will sell the following:— 110 Choice Grade Jersey Cows, mostly 2nd, 3rd and 4th calvers, due to calve from July 20 onwards 10 Choice 2-year in-calf Jersey Heifers 5 Choice 2-year in-calf Friesian Heifers Also, 25 Heart Matai Strainers. On account of W. H. Spanhake, Waimana: 15 Choice Jersey and Jersey Cross Cows. Mr Wardlaw’s herd comprises good quality well bred, high producing cattle that are grazed on rolling country. Only the best of Stud Jersey Bulls have been used for maintaining the herd’s replacements. Production figures have been at a high standard for the last six years the herd has averaged over 32,000 lbs butterfat factory returns.
