ANNUAL MEETING

N.Z. NATIONAL PARTY

WHAKATANE BRANCH The annual general meeting of the Whakatane Borough Branch of the New Zealand National Party was held in Whakatane on Wednesday evening. Mr H. G. Warren presided over a good attendance which was favoured with addresses by the Member for the Bay of Plenty, Mr W. Sullivan, and the Member for Marsden, Mr F. J. Murdoch. Many matters of political interest were discussed. Intimation was received that Mrs R. Ross, Member for Hamilton, had accepted an invitation to address a meeting of ladies in Whakatane on Tuesday afternoon, May 21. The following office bearers were elected for the coming year:—

Chaii’man: Mr H. G. Warren. Vice-Chairman: Mr J. Creeke. Secretary: Mrs Gartshore. Treasurer: Mr L. Buddie. Hon. Auditor: Mr T.'Harland. Committee: Messrs. C. S. Armstrong, A. Hall, G. Otley, A. Shaw, A. Edwards, W. Blomfield, Mrs Cobbe, Miss North.
