AN OPEN LETTER

TO DISTRICT ELECTORS N.Z. VOTERS POLICY ASSN. Dear Sir or Madam, The above Association, in its campaign, interesting electors in defence of their individual freedom, is opposing the existing situation in New Zealand, where serfdom to the State is being effected through a stranglehold on all industry, and we take the liberty of addressing you in the hope that you will associate in an endeavour to break asunder one of the most important links in the chains of control.

We refer to the existing control over the Radio netwoi'k, a system of publicity, paid for by the people, but not available to the people for the discussion of subjects of wide interest, such as problems of production and distribution, and of course other questions. As these controls were applied by and through Members of Parliament, they can be removed by and through the same media, provided electors are prepared and willing to insist that those elected servants give effect to the wishes of the people as expressed from time to time. Consequently we suggest that you as an elector write to the M.P. representing you, requesting that the Radio network be made available for discussion of controversial subjects. We would appreciate your practical assistance in this campaign, in the direction indicated herein. President Roosevelt once stated that: “It is the duty of Government to yield to pressure.” Do you appreciate that application of electors pressure will pay handsome rewards? Action by you assures you of a share.

We thank you in anticipation, and for any communication you may decide to forward to us.

Yours faithfully, E. C. BROWNE, Hon. Secretary. Per W. Bradshaw. P.O. Box 20W, Auckland. P.B.A.
