ADULT EDUCATION

WEEK OF LECTURES & COURSES

A community education week, consisting of lectures and other activities designed to help the community life of the district, will be held in Whakatane during the week commencing Monday, May 6. The panel of lecturers from the Adult Education Centre in Auckland will consist of Mr P. Martin Smith (Director), Miss E. M. Smith, M.A., Mr J. F. McDougall, 8.A., and Mr Owen Jensen -(Music Specialist). The day courses, ‘Women in the Community”, and “Women in the Home”, are planned particularly for the ladies of the community, while the evening lectures will be more general in their appeal, and will include music. The fee for the full course will be 5/-, day or evening courses separately 4/-. The secretary of the local committee handling the arrangements is Miss L. M. Lawes of the High School staff.
