After his recent discharge from an Army hospital, comedian Red Skelton is enjoying a restful holiday. In a few weeks time he will return, to the studio to start work in “The Show-Off.”

Having completed her scenes in M.G.M.’s new super musical “Till The Clouds Roll By”, Judy Garland, in private life Mrs Vincente Minelli, retired temporarily some weeks ago to await the arrivel of her baby dud this Easter.

Kathryn Grayson and Frank Sinatra, who co-star in the Technicolour musical “Anchors Aweigh” will be teamed-’ in “Jumbo”, an elaborate musical with a circus background. Heading the supporting cast is Jimmy Durante, who will repeat the role he created on the stage.

Lana Turner has been selected.for the starring role in “Frankie From Frisco.” The film is a story of the building e of the railroad from San Francisco to New Orleans in the eighteen-sixties. This will be Lana’s first period film since “Honky-Tonk.” “Papa Went To Congress” an unpublished novel by Kenneth Horan is to be made into a film with an all-star cast. It is a family story set in the eighteen-sixties, somewhat on the lines of “Meet Me In' St. Louis.” The only stars selected so far jure June Ally son and Margaret O’Brien (child star of “Lost Angel”). Regent: “Dragon Seed” (Sat. and Mon.) Really an outstanding film. Produced by M.G.M. and is based on celebrated novel by Pearl Buck. It is an epic story of the struggles of the Chinese people against the marauding Japanese invaders. Two hours running time, it is produced on a lavish scale with wide detail. Filmed in new Sepia Tone.
