THIRD ANNUAL EASTER TOURNAMENT

The Whakatane Bowling Club’s Third Annual Easter Tournament was concluded at the Club’s greens at Apanui yesterday afternoon, the Patumahoe team entered by H. Oates—J. E. Brown, R. Neal, H. Oates and J. Perrit (s) claiming victory by 16 points to 15 over the run-ners-up A. Burt, W. Hooper, C. Hollis and R. Murphy (s) (Whakatane). The final as the score indicates, was an exceedingly close match, both teams playing very good bowls, Perrit particularly displaying the style which captured for him the place of runner-up in the New Zealand Singles Championships. A total of thirty two teams entered for the tournament. A full report will appear in a later issue.
