A FEATURE COLUMN Picturisation of “Forever Amber,” the historical novel that was banned, is still going ahead. The . final script is now being submitted for the censor’s approval.

No confirmation has come to hand regarding the rumoured death of Harry James. On the other hand, 20th Century Fox ' reported last month that Harry and his wife Betty Grable, had purchased the three year old racehorse “Electronic.”

After a meteoric rise to stardom through the Lassie and Flicka pictures, Roddy McDowall is said to surpass all previous acting performances in ‘The Keys of the Kingdom’ picturisation of another of A. J. Cronin’s stories.

Playing the role of just another wife to King Mongkut in “Anna And The King Of Siam” is Lillian Molieri, a 19 year old Nicaraguan girl, sent to America by her parents to study finance as a career. Luis Molieri, her father, an influential banker in Nicaragua, was disappointed in her unpredicted turn, but wished her success.

Warner Bros. ‘Bugs Buny’ makes his magazine debut in the December issue of “Coronet.” Yarn entitled ‘A Hare Crown In Manhattan’ tells ‘Bug’s’ life story from the time he was boim in an ink bottle, to his present status as one of moviedom’s top cartoon characters. Seven pages are devoted to the carrot-chewing star. Although a top-liner in the States, ‘Bugs Buny’ is not so well known in New Zealand at present, but in another few years, he may be as equally familiar as Popeye;

Regent: (Sat. Mon. and Tues.) Stars Roddy McDowall, Sir Cedric Hardwicke and Thomas Mitchell. Story by A. .J. Cronin. Of the cast, Thomas Mitchell will be well remembered for his part in ‘lmmortal Sergeant’ with Henry Fonda, and as the father in ‘The Sullivans.’ An excellent picture which should not be missed.

Grand: “The Dark Tower” (Sat. and Mon.) A picture built round the famous English circus ‘Reeo. Bros.’ Story good, but secondary to the featured spectacular circus acts which bring this picture into line with some of the screen’s best.
