Mr H. P. R. Collins has been appointed to the staff of the Whakatane District High School.
Mr C. V. Fordham, Registrar of the Native Land Court, Rotorua, is at present visiting Whakatane.
Subsequent to the transfer of Inspector R. B: Doggett, of the Traffic Department, Inspector Sharpe has arrived in Whakatane and has commenced his duties. Inspector Doggett was farewelled recently at a morning tea accorded him by the staff of the Public Service, Whakatane, when a presentation was made.
- Cpl. G. B. Mead, R.N.Z.A.F., late of Taneatua, has taken over the duties of A.T.C. Instructor in conjunction with Sgt. J. McDavitt, recentlyreturned from overseas. Prior to being transferred to the R.N.Z.A.F., Cpl. Mead was Warrant Officer to the Whakatane Squadron of the A.T.C., and was recently transferred from the South Island to replace Flight Sgt. Len Parker, who ha§ now taken over the Gisborne Brea.
Flying Officer S. Whitworth, who', owing to ill-health, was forced some months ago to give up his position as Officer Commanding No. 35 Squadron, Air Training Corps, Whakatane, has now resumed control with F/Q J. W. Wright as his adjutant.
