COUNTY PRINCESSES

POSITION OF FIELD VOTES MOUNTING STEADILY The following is the position of the six princesses representing the various districts in the County, supporting the present R.S.A. Queen Carnival:—

Votes Princess Nancy (Taneatua) . . 4,200 Princess Kathleen (Edgecumbe) 4,000 Princess Ellen (Te Teko) .... 3,446 Princess Josephine (Matata) .. 3,000 Princess Betty (Awakeri) .... 1,500 Princess Ivy (Otakiri) Princess Nancy has announced that she refuses to be held back any longer and taking the bit between her teeth has passed the field. Princess Kathleen however is not going to let her get too big a lead. Princess Ellen is moving along slowly whilst Princess Johephine has stopped and is waiting for the back markers. Princess Betty has also left the post and is showing a fair turn of speed. Princess Ivy is getting away to a late start but her supporters claim she is the future Queen of the County.
