PLUNKET SOCIETY

ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY The annual Plunket Society’s Garden Party was held at Mrs Knights’ residence, King Street, on Thursday afternoon. Although fine, the weather was unsettled, and this, combined with the fact that a number of kiddies at present have measles, prevented many mothers and children being present. The function was however, a great success financially, and was very enjoyable. The Baby Competition proved to be perhaps one of the most popular, a large number of entries being received. The afternoon’s results were as follows:

Baby Contest, up to 6 months Heather Larsen.

Up to 12 months: Peter Debreceny Up to 2 years: Susan Nobley. Competitions: Dinner, E. Donaldson, No. 7; Fruitcake, Mrs Orbell No. 20; Sweets, Mrs J. Rae, No. 1

Preserves, Mrs Caisley, No. 43; Card Table Cloth, Mrs Buddie, No.' 39; Croquet, Mrs Don Stewart; Taipo, Mrs Ryde; Quoits, Mrs Don Stewart.
