WRESTLING
TOMORROW’S CONTEST Surprising results are attending the Whakatane Wrestling and Boxing Association’s first effort in promoting wrestling in this district. Bookings for tomorrow night, when a full programme will be presented in the Grand Theatre, show the interest which is being taken over a wide area. Seats have been secured by patrons as' far afield as Te Puke and Opotiki, and the last minute rush for reserved seats expected today should ensure a financial success for the venture, all- the profits from which will be handed to the R.S.A. Businessmen’s Committee in aid of Princess Beverley. The professional match between Ken Kenneth 17st 2ibs and Joe Julian 18 stone, will be the oustanding attraction, while the pick uf the Auckland Province’s amateurs should complete a great night’s entertainment.
Besides the reserves already booked, seats will be sold on the night at 10s, 6s and 4s (no tax) ensuring everyone of an opportunity to witness the contests.
Following upon the big demand for seats, the Association is wishing that it had an even bigger Theatre at its disposal. We congratulate them on their obvious success on this occasion.
