SUCCESSFUL FLOWER SHOW EXCEPTIONAL. ENTRIES The Flower Show held recently by the Waimana-Nukuhou Women’s Institute was a great success. The total number of entries were 731 and all were of a very high standard considering the dryness of the season.
Visitors from outside districts, in fact stated surprise at seeing such a large display of flowers; fruit, vegetables, home industries and needlework.
The show was held during the day and in the evening until 9 p.m. when a dance was held. Music was supplied by the Waimana Orchestra, whilst Mr McGilray obliged with an extra. Mr and Mrs S. Eagle were doorkeepers during the evening and Mrs Marra and Mrs W. Addison in the afternoon. Presentation of Awards
