Plight of Farmers
“Many farmers won’t be receiving any return from their cows as from the end of this month,” said Mr A. J. Murdoch at Wednesday’s meeting of the East Coast Dairy Association. “That will mean that from March till August they will get no returns whatsoever. How are they going to survive unless some Governmental, assistance is forthcoming ?”
No Growsers Amongst Farmers “I have travelled a good many miles during the past few weeks throughout the Waikato and other parts of the South Auckland,” said Mr W. Sullivan M.P. at last Wednesday’s meeting of the East Coast Dairy Association. “The thing which struck me most forcibly was the almost complete lack of complaints from the farming community in spite of the calamity now upon them. I don’t think there are any squealers amongst the farmers of the East Coast either.”
