Supplies of Elastic
There will be no return to the fully-elastic braces, belts and suspenders of pre-war days this year, is the opinion of a Dominion manufacturer of these articles of clothing. The present practice of using a small piece of elastic in these items and in others normally requiring elastic would remain, he thought, until the end of the year at least, reports the Now Zealand Draper. Medical requirements had the first priority on the supply of elastic, and domestic needs which included J everything except braces, garters belts and arm bands, had the second call on supplies. The latest advice from London buyers was that a certain amount of sjmthetic elastic would be available soon. A quantity of elastic' was also expected to be released from Canada. However, these supplies would not meet all the demands of .the priorities, and there would be just enough to maintain the elastic insertions in garments'.
