IMPORTANT CONFERENCE FIXED

MEETING WAIKATO BOARD / / - In response to the recent letter from the conference between Boroiigh and County interests with regard to the proposed merging of the Whakatane and Waikato Hospital districts, the Waikato Board has replied advising that the Board’s Finance Committee had been appointed to meet the -representative committee from the Whakatane Hospital District on Thursday, March 7 at 11 a.pa. at the Board’s Office, Hamilton, to discuss matters regarding the amalgamation of the Hospital Districts. The chairman (Mr J. L. Burnett) of the Whakatane County Council stated that delegates had been appointed and the outcome of the conference would have great interest for the ratepayers.

A letter from the Galatea Settlers Association favouring the amalgamation was received.
