Automatic Chopping Judge Competitors at the Edgecumbe Axemen’s and Sports Gymkhana on Saturday will be pleased to note that the committee has secured the automatic chopping judge to cover all axemen’s events.
First Carnival Lead The first indication of the voting for the various Princesses nowparticipating in the R.S.A. Welfare Memorial Carnival comes from Edgecumbe, where the committee of Princess Kathleen announces that she has a lead with 1043 votes.
Condition Improved The condition of Mr D. Palmer a well known resident of Taneatua, who suffered serious injuries as the result of a fall frorh a tree is reported to be showing slight improvement. Mrs S. Frankland, a neighbour of Mr Palmer’s in hurrying to render assistance slipped and injured her shoulder. After receiving medical treatment she was able to return to her home.
Top-dressing Fertiliser Farmers should check up on their deliveries of their present season’s allotment of fertiliser, as regulations make it compulsory that, all orders in respect to this rationing year, ending May 31st should be in the hands of their merchants on or before Friday, March 15th next. Prompt attention should be given to this matter, as vendors will be unable to fulfil orders after that date, except with the consent-of the Controller.
