THE BOROUGH AREA TRAFFIC INSPECTOR’S REPORT In his report on Traffic' Control in the Whakatane Borough Area to the Borough Council i'or the month of November and and, January 1946, the Traffic Inspector Mr 11. Doggett;, stated as under:—
I have pleasure in submitting the following report on traffic control in your Council’s area during the months of November, December 1915 and January 1946.
Twenty-four applications for driver’s licenses were tested during the quarter, and "all passed the required test. Thirty-nine .warnings wci'e issued for various traffic offences.
Four Heavy Motor Vehicles were weighed. Four Traffic Offence Notices were issued; these comprised, 1 for operating a dangerously loaded vehicle, and 3 for no Warrants of Fitnes&. A traffic check was made in the Borough during the quarter, and as a result of the check I have to ad>~ vise that the majority of the vehic r les operated in the. Borough arc in fairly good order. A few notices were left on wind■screens of cars parked in the Bor r ough without lights, and in no case was it necesary to warn the offenders a second time.
Special attention is being given to noisy motor cycles being operated in the Borough. Attention is still being given to cyclists.
