TANEATUA GARDENING CIRCLE
A meeting of the Taneatua Women’s Institute (gardening Cii’cle was held at Mrs Bennett’s residence: recently. Despite the fact that.some members were on holiday there was quite a good number present. Minutes were read and confirmed and the programme and competitions arranged for the following meeting. Airs Butler gave a very interesting and informative reading on “Propagation by cuttings and layers.” After viewing the garden a memory competition was held. This was won by Airs Butler, Competitions' were judged by Airs Knowles as- follows: —Vase for effect: Mrs Fitchctt 1; Airs Bennett 2; Mijs Grey 3. Best flower: Airs Hayward (Gladioli) 1; Airs Butler (Petunia) 2; Airs Fitchctt (Poppy) 3. Rest vegetable: Mrs Butler (Tomato) 1; Mrs Grey (Cabbage) 2; Mrs Hayward (Cabbage) 3.
A very pleasant afternoon closed with votes of thanks to the judge and hostesses.
