TRAGEDY RECALLED
YOUNG MAN’S DEATH AT OHOPE
UNFORTUNATE HOLIDAY INCIDENT The adjourned inquest into tin death of Stephen James Bidois oJ Oropi, Tauranga, was heard before Mr C. S. Armstrong, coroner in tbe Whakatane Courthouse last Wednesday afternoon when a formal finding of death from heart failure was returned. John Parkinson a bushman friend of the deceased stated that lie was one of a party of four camping at Ohope over the Christmas and New Year holidays. On December 31 deceased complained of pains in his chest and stomach and perpiriod
profusely. His condition grew worse and the doctor and ambulance were communicated with. Deceased had died on the way to the hospital. Deceased had appeared in his usual state of healtli that morning. He was a returned soldier, having seen service in the Pacific Islands. Dr. Heteher Cole gave evidence of the' post mortem examination deposing that a large clot of blood had completely blocked one of tlic heart blood-vessels, thus preventing the. normal flow. It would have been quite sufficient to cause death.
