REGENT PREVIEW

TOP-NOTCH FEBRUARY LINE-UP

Definitely the greatest number of top-ranking stars to ever visit the Regent screen will he featured during the. month of February. The list which will ire presented consists entirely of major attractions. Remember ‘Thousands Cheer’ ? Built on the same lines; ‘Two Girls and a Sailor’ (January 2-5) has an even greater cast of stars. To mention but a few, it stars June Alljv Son, Gloria DeHaven, Van Johnson, Lena Horne, Jimmy Durante Virginia O’Brien, Henry Stephenson, Gracie Allen, Donald Mock" Hurry James, Xavier Cugat and Jose Iturbi (world famous concert pianist). ‘Seventh Cross’ (January 6-8) stars Spencer Tracy. It is a powerful and dramatic story of escape from a Nazi concentration camp. The long awaited ‘Song ,of Bernadette’ will be screened from February 9-13.

‘Follow The Boys’' (February 145) is another ‘Thousands Cheer’ with a similar spectacular line-up of stars. In such pictures the story matters little, the actual entertainment value revolving round the large and varied cast of actors and actresses all of whom have previously played stellar roles.

‘Song To Remember’ (February 16-20) was the picture chosen for the opening of the New Majestic Theatre recently in Auckland where it ran for two months. It stars Paul Muni, Merle Oberon and Cornel Wilde, and may be listed as a classic.

To find a run of such first class pictures all within the space of one month is almost unprecedented, and theatre patrons' will doubtless appreciate tile efforts of the management of the Regent towards this end.
