WEDDING BELLS
YEOMAN—REID A wedding of outstanding interest to the. Whakatane district was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Churchy Taneatua, on Friday December 28 when Miss Nellie Reid younger daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Walter Reid t » was married to Captain Allan Yeo,man youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr F. C. Yeoman of Tan9at.ua.
■UIS ceremony was performed by Her. J. Nummy and the church was tastefully decorated in shades of blue and rose.
The hfiiU* in a frock of powder blue satin-backed, Crepe, with hat to tone, carried a posy bouquet of soft pink roses, carnations and glad,ioli. She was attended by Miss Ruth Basett of Auckland and Miss Elsie Yeoman (sister of the bridegroom) who wore frocks and bats of rose plillf posies of summer flowers.
The bridegroom Y r as supported by his brother, Captain Alfred, Yeoman M.C. and his cousin, Mi* Roy Reridon.
During the signing of the register, Mr Clinton Williams of Auckland, sang tlie. solo “All Jo3' Be Thine.”
The reception was held at the Taneatua Hall where the tables were daintily arrayed with pink carnations and sweet peas while great bowls of .flowers stood among the palms at the head of the hall.
The Master of Ceremonies- was the Rev. 11. Hogg, of Whakatane. The speakers made pleasing references to the quality of the two families now united, and paid warm tribute to the worth of those line early set-i tiers, the late Mr and Mrs Reid and Mr Yeoman. Mrs Williams, a sister of the bridegroom sang “Prayer Perfect.”
The bride and groom left later for an extended honeymoon through New Zealand the bride wearing a suit ? . of rose rust with white braid embroidery.
YEOMAN—DAKERS The marriage of Miss Jean Dakcrs to Captain Alfred Yeoman, M.C., took place at Waimauku on Wednesday, December .19, at St. Martin’s Church.
The bride who was given away by her father Mr W. J. Dakers Avore a charming goAvn of deep ivory, with a finger-tip veil, and carried a boujquet of Christmas lilies and cream roses.
The pale green marquisette frock of her matron of honour, Mrs Pair lant set oft' perfectly her posy of HaAvlmark crimson loses.
The bridegroom was accompanied by his brother, Captain Allan YeOr man.
The Rei’. H. J. Lilburn of Helensville Avas the officiating minister, and Mrs Grace presided at the organ. Guests attended from far and near, and a special bus Avas chartered to conA’ey friends from Auckland. A delightful breakfast Avas served in the Waimauku Hall, and solos were rendered, both at the service and the reception, by Mr Clinton Williams of Auckland.
The bridegroom’s, mother was in black Avith a shoulder spray of pink carnations.'
The happy couple left for their honeymoon at Ohopc Beach, the bride. Avcaring a blue linen suit a rtf hat to match.
