WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council held December 10, 1945 the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the Council Meeting to be held January 21, 1946 a,t 7.30 p.m. at the Borough Council Chamr bers, Whakatane. RESOLUTION. In pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and all Acts amending the same and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf the Whakatane Borough Council 'acting on behalf of *the Mayor, Councillors and Burgesses of the Borough of Whakatane doth hereby by Special Order make this By-Law. The purport of the By-Law is (1) to prohibit the lighting of fires in the open air within the Borough without a written permit, and specifying conditions to apply to the lighting of such fires (2) to authorise the Council to require the removal of combustible growth which is or may become a source of danger from fire.

A copy of the proposed By-Law is deposited, at the office of the Council, Whakatane and may be inspected during office hours and without fee until January 21 } 1946. D. V.
