111. Tiie following information regarding salaries payable under the new award are of interest:—
Pupil Nurse £72 (first year) to £lO4 (fourth unregistered).. Staff Nurse £132-5145. Ward Sister £1604220. Tutor Sister £220-£390. Dietary Sister £230-£390. Matron £2BQ-£6lO, Nursing Aid Trainee £92-£194. Registered Nursing Aid £llO-£l3O. Maternity Trainee £72-:£B2. Reg. Maternity Nurse £145. Reg. Widwife £2OO.
Free board lodging* and uniforms or in lieu of board and lodging a living-out allowance up to £IOO may be paid.
Annual Leave: Pupil nurse, three weeks on full pay. Registered nurse four weeks on full pay.
Sick Leave: Up to 4 years' service 4 weeks on full pay t 1 weeks on half pay in any one year: over 4 years' service 6 Avecks on full pay 6 weeks on half paj' in any one year.
District Nurses, £2OU-£320 ? plus uniform transport with furnished cottage or house allowance in certain localities.
District Nurse Inspector, up to £4OO.
Plunket Nurse t £244-£307. Mental Hospital Trainee £lO5-£125 Mental Hospital Charge Nurse £155r£185.
Mental Hospital Matron £220-£340. 5
There , are vacancies at our own Hospital in Whakatanc for girls wishing to make nursing their career. Student Nurses can be enrolled from the age of 17 years. They will undergo training for a period of two years during which time they receive individual tuition for the State Preliminary Examination heli: at the end of 18 months. After this they may complete their training at a large centre where 18 months will be granted. .
Free, board and uniforms are provided. Salary £72 (first year). There are also vacancies for Nursing Aids. Their work and conditions are the same as for the trainees and instruction on practical work is given. Salary £92 (first year) rising £lO4 (second year).
