BOROUGH TIP
DISPOSAL OF RUBBISH HEALTH INSPECTOR'S COMPLAINTS "The question of the'..rubbish tip seems 'to figure prominently in all the Health Inspector's reports" .said Cr Warren at the. December meeting of the Borough Council last Monday evening, when the latest complaints from Inspector Knights reports were read concerning the unsatisfactory nature of the rubbish tip which he claimed would never come up to his department's requirements- until greater control whs exercised. Explaining the position the Mayor (Mr B. S. Barry) said that ithe Borough Foreman did his best to control the dumping of rubbish but it was not the Borough collections j which were giving the trouble. It was rather the indiscriminate dumping of unauthorised persons which could not be controlled unless a man was on duty there all the time. The Borough rubbish was always covered with spoil and rolled in. Cr Shapley said that he considered Inspector Knights was confusing the issue. The Borough was not responsible i'or the whole of the. ground—only that 'part, on which ! the recognised dump was situated. The matter was then closed.
