■» * CALF CLUB AFTERNOON There was a good attendance of parents and friends at the Calf Club day, held recently in the school grounds. Great credit must be given to the children for the obvious care and attention they had given their calves. A cup donateel by Mr Alf Eagle, for yearly competition, for the best grade calf exhibited was' won by Rex Eagle's Joyful-. The cup will be known as the "Victory Cup" and a miniature will be given each year. The "Robert Fleming Memorial Cup" donated by the Y.F.C. is a challenge cup for competition between the three schools Waimana Nukuhou North anel Tana Tana, anel it was. won by Jim Black's Rosy Nukuhou North Eagle's J Joyful being runner-up. Dairy Type. (Senior): Beverley Henderson's Trixie 1; Alfy Boynton's Bessie 2; Cini Boynton's Heather 3. Dairy Type Junior: Rex Eagle's Joyful 1; Jack Wate's Rose, 2; Annette Henderson's Buttercup 3. Rearing and Handling, Junior: Rex Eagle's Joyful 1; Annette Henelerson's Buttercup 2; Richard Henderson's Daisy 3. Senior Calf Judging: Boynton 1. At the conclusion of the judging Mr J. Cane on behalf of the Y.F.C. presentee! the Robert Fleming Memorial Cup to Jim Black, Nukuhou North, and congratulated him on his success. Mr N. Eagle then on behalf of the Calf Club presented the "Victory Cup" to Rex Eagle for the best grade calf. The speaker also explained several important points on entering calves for Calf Club competition. On behalf of the judges Mr D. White congratulated the children on the calves exhibited,, and hoped they would continue to take interest in the club v Afternoon tea was served by mothers and friends and enjoyed by all.
