Sir ? — Your correspondent in his recent has conveniently avoided tlie issue' he raised in his first letter. My reply apparently staggered Mr somewhat and the only way .in. which he could escape the issue was >to endeavour to lead me away to other subjects which have no relation to the living standards of the people in New Zca'tnd. I take it by the change of subI have satisfied Mr Evans on those points and although he. has notf openly agreed, one must take it for granted lie thinks otherwise. He should have endeavoured to put up some sound argument in defence of his first letter. I .Mr Evans also educate you on the'many other issues you have rajsed but as you say, you arc very busy working 80 hours a week helping to solve the housing problem whicli the .Labour Government has failed to solve. I will however take this opportunity oi enlightening you and others, who like yourself have been inca'pable of seeing through the propaganda given out by your political friends. to begin with the previous Government has a very poor record to look back at when one remembers how U:bey crippled the building trade by allowing the employers the right to terminate any contracts of apprenticeship, thereby depriving the industry of its sole source of competent -tradesmen for the future. When Labour became the Government what happened? Having a big job ahead } and not sufficient carpenters to meet the situated creatcd by
