OHOPE BIBLE CLASS
ANNUAL PICNIC HELD TRIP TO WHALE ISLAND On Saturday, the Ohope Presbyterian Bible Class held its annual pienic which this was in the form of a trip to Whale Island. Tin; weather was favourable, and the party which numbered .sixteen Bible Class members and friends had' a good trip across the intervening stretch of water between the mainland and the Whale. Ihe majority of those on board landed before and the morning was spent in swimming and general exploring. This latter took the l'orm of an ascent to the top of the peak, and a trip down the other side. Sulphur Bay also I'eceived investigation and a trip round the docks was made. The party suspended operations at mid-day in time for some very welcome lunch. In the a large number reboarded the launch and a fishing trip, which proved to be quite successful was made. The 'trip home was also without incident, except that a school of porpoises which accompanied the boat for .some distance attracted attention. The excursion was organised by tlie Hev. 11. M. Bell, and all who participated were unanimous in voting the day a sucuces-s in every direction .
