SPRING CATTLE FAIR

SATISFACTORY PRICES RULE

Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report having held their Spring Cattle Fair at "NYha'katanc on Friday } November !) when the entries exceeded the advertised numbers. A full bench of buyers from the Waikato, Rotorua, Waihi, Te. Puke and Opotiki districts together with' buyers from the local districts. The demand for grown cattle far exceeded the supply while the younger cattle ? particularly the yearling cattle met with only a moderate demand. A very satisfactory clearance was affected at prices well on a par with recent quotations in outside districts. Fat cattle, changed hands at ruling quotations while young holdover Jersey and Friesian cattle met a steady demand. We quote:—

Prime medium weight P.A. bullocks £17 15s; prime heavy Jersey steers to £l(i; fat P. A. cows £10 15s to £11; heavy fat Friesian cows £9 17s to £11; lighter fat Friesian cows £7 to £7 17s; Fat Jersey cows and heifers £7 to £7 17s (kl; others £(5 to £7; runners £fi 10s to £7.
