Authorisations of expenditure and advances of rehabilitation purposes: totalled £13,071,650 as at September 30 states the Rehabilitation Board. Added to .this, is £2 958 879, being the amount involved until the same date in the purchase by the. Crown of land for development find settlement which made a total authorised outlay of £16,030,529. Of the amount authorised, apart from land purchase £ll ? 212. 5 333 has been for loans to ex-servicemen and women as detailed in tlie Board's monthly statement already publ'islu ed ' £871,294 has been for various forms of trade training, including subsidies to employers £577,4-90 for farm training, £137,950 for cduca-
tion £10.281 for blinded servicemen's care and made up of grant to the Disabled Servicemen's Re-establishment League, £13324 in special grants to. ex-service-men and women j £6747 for tlie intermediate scheme for the training of neurosis and similar cases and £9088
for miscellaneous purposes, such as the payment of ex-servicemen's re"movals and travelling expenses in certain circumstances. Rehabilitation allowances have involved an expenditure of £514 694 while special aspccts of Maori rehabilitation has meant an authorised outlay of £163, - 313.
