USE OF SODIUM CHLORATE
PUMICE AS FILLER
When discussing a letter from the Native Department regarding tbei control of ragwort in the Ruatoki! area, the Wliakatane County Count cil decided in view of the shortage of lime for mixing in the sodium, chlorate to notify the Department that Awakeri pumice had proved a satisfactory filler and was alternatively less costly.
Tlie Ruatoki Fields Mr J. Merritt_ advised that the materials required to meet expenditure for the ragwort eradication grant y assumed as £500 is as follows:—s3 gallons weed killer at £2 Is 10tl per 2 gallon lining £55 4s 2d; 90 lime at £2 4s 2d per £198? 15s; OOcwt sodium at £2 14s 6d per cwt f £245 ss. £499 4s 2d. "
