WIN FOR AWAKERI ROTORUA TEAM DEFEATED ' Awakeri defeated Rotorua in an inter-club Badminton match held at the . Awakeri Hall on Friday last. The games played in a sporting fashion were not really as one sided as the score would lead one to believe. The final result was Awakeri 10 games Rotorua two games. Details were as under, Rotorua names being mentioned lii'st in each case: — Ladies' Doubles: M. Adliss and E. Halliwcll v P. Rust and N. Jensen 11 21; M. Thorpe and Mrs Archibald v R. Baty and M. Jensen 8/21. Gent's Doubles: R. Adliss and Robinson v Bob Rae and S. Mala, quin 7 21; C. Vuglar and M. Jackson v F. Jensen and J. Rust 17/21. Combines: M. Adliss and R. Adliss v P. Rust and B. Rae 21/11; E. Halii well and D. Robinson vN. Jensen and S. Malacjuin 11/21; M. Thorpe and C. Vuglar v R. Baty and F. Jensen 19/21; Archibald ancl M. Jackson v M. Jensen and J. Rust. 18/21; E. Jensen and J. Rust 19/21. \ Mr Fred Jensen after thanking the Rotorua players for coming such a distance, expressed the hope that Awakeri would be able to return the visit early next, season. Mr Adliss suitably replied on be. half of Rotorua with special mention of the delightful supper provided. He stated further that he hoped to see the club represented at a district tournament to be held next year at Rotorua.
