THE SOCIALISTS & THE PEOPLE
Sir,—The National Socialist Hitsaid that what was physically possible would be made financially possible; that no financial eons.deration would lie permitted to stand in the way of necessary producion. The German banker agreed but said that this was only possible in the planned economy of a National Social State, A Social Credit message asserts that by means of the national dividend and the just price discount (which is the sales tax that which is physically possible can be made financially possible without inflation or interference of democratic principles. We must guard against the introduction of bureaucratic socialism in any form; we must see that the desire for money reform i.s not used to introduce totalitarian methods. It is the power to use their own credit for their own purposes and not the ownership of the .banks that is important ,to the people. The philosophy- of life is the education of it! To give the people a higher moral standard of living. The experience of past history shows we have been educated' through, our educational system to accept a change of curriculum from every successive Government^ whether for better or for worse, as « the outside influence of our present day economic system is the govern-? ing power! It is needless to say that it has been so far for the worse. I would point out that Hitler gained his power and held it through the education of the rising generation and corruption of the German y uth» Now Sir what we want and it ] J V lies with; us the people is a Government that cannot dictate to the people that "2 x 2 make 5." Thus: (a) representing production costs (b) being interest on capital production plus costs equals 5 plus 10 p,c. sales tax (or more) is passed on to the consumer. The consumer being also a producer passes i*. on ? and the last man passes out. Our present philosophy a very wrong one j is to encourage, interest and debt as a means to get on in and instead of the people as a nation becoming strong and self-reliant f they are becoming weaker and losing
their independence. If we want to ' be freed from the bondage, of the present day political and economic control then we must bring pressure to bear on our representatives in the House or our Municipal Councillors, to produce Monetary Reform as a part of our educational system. By this means we will destroy the pressure and imposition of debt to
foreign capital the sales tax will be - removed and. become, a dividend! to the people in increased purchasing power and another link in the chain of poverty amidst plenty will be broken. Thus through education and the voice of the people w: can get the true philosophy of life! Live and let live. Yours etc^ W. BRADSUAW,
