Les Young, Sgt. Tui Melville Sgt. Clive Smith Pte. Dick Melville and Leading Mechanician John Bunyan. The duty of welcoming the boys on behalf of the gathering fell to Mr D. Butler who said that now they knew most of the men were returning to the district they were all able to unite in a far happier spirit than they did when saying farewell. He mentioned that the Melville family had a very fine record in having six members of the family with service overseas. W.O. Young responded on bohalf of the returned men ( who all spoke briefly in appreciation of the welcome accorded them. Each man was the recipient of an envelope and their remarks, were received with hearty applause. The fifth heat of the £6 Monte Carlo was well responded to and the floor was crowded with dancers the J winners being Mr and Mrs A. Mac-; Donald.
