WOMEN'S DIVISION

AUCKLAND ACTIVITIES

Close association with the Women's Division of the N-Z. Farmers' Union (Audiland Province) is being maintained by the Auc'fand Provincial Executive and at last meeting "an application for accommodation in the Provincial headquarters in Hobson Street to hold its monthly meetings was granted. The projject formerly put forward for the establishment of a -Rest House in Auckland city for farmers' wives was advanced a further stage. The Divisional President Mrs. E. L. Dodd sent particulars of a property in Mount Eden that appeared wor. thy of consideration and invited the executive to be present at an inspection that was being arranged. The Provincial Mr A. T. Dow t had been instructed to attend. Captain Rushworth reported upon discussions that had taken place between himself, and Mr A. E. Robinson and the Women's. Division officials in regard to the Government's offer of financial assistance to the Division in the matter of housekeepers. Certain advice had been given them.

Well, it's the .same story in New Zealand, and the greatly increased demand l'or the 'weed is not alto, gether due to the increase in population. It's largely attributable to the rate at which we all live now and the rush and hurry of modern life. People crave for something to relieve the nervous tension and find that- tobacco helps considerablj-. The ever-growing demand for the latter has been far more marked in New Zealand .since the introduction of "toasted " which has fairly captured the public taste and is actually preferred by smokers innumerable to the imported article. This is by no means surprising because "toasted" is not only of the. very highest grade ? but so comparatively from nicotine, thanks to toasting as to be. safe for even the heaviest .smoker. Here are some of the brands: Riverliead Gold Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead) and Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog) _ also Riverhead and Desert Cold tailormadcs. All toasted and no sore throat no * ? cough!
