I" I ; / ffi | A "■ jflV HAY and SILAGE Today's necessity for next season's butterfat The foundation of our 1946-47 butterfat production (upon which Britain is relying) is the proper maintenance and feeding of our dairy herds next winter. Make provision now to close down extra areas for hay and silage early this spring. Choose only good quality pastures containing a high percentage of clover and aim to cut the crop at the flowering stage so that the hay or silage will be as nutritious as possible. Then feed your cows well next autumn, winter and early spring, and you will have them in the best possible condition for big butterfat yields.
